Popped in here for a pedicure. I made an appointment which i recommend. Some bratty Georgetown girls walked in and were pissed about not being able to get their nails done, but guess what, they didnt have an appt. So, make one and they will honor it. Cute space, good staff, good color options. My new go to in Gtown. Oh and a plus is you can tip on your card.
I was looking for a place close to work that I could stop in on my lunch break. After reading Yelp reviews for a few places in the neighborhood I headed to Jessica's Salon for a manicure and pedicure. This place was nice/clean and reasonably priced. I will go back. If trying to fit in a service on your lunch break, I do recommend calling ahead. I didn't have a problem but some people after me weren't able to get manicures because of appointments and already being busy.
This is my go-to nail place. The manicurists do a terrific job and make me feel welcome. The salon is comfortable. I love it!
I tried Jessica's on the recommendation of a friend. My old nail salon has started thinning their polish and recycling toe spacers (ew!). Made me wonder what other corners they were cutting, so I needed to change.
Jessica's is a cleverly designed little space with three pedicure chairs and maybe four or five nail stations. Kate did my mani-pedi. She was really accommodating and knowledgeable. She showed me that the razor blades were individually wrapped and never reused. She explained why some people choose to have their cuticles cut or just pushed back. She helped me pick colors. In short a great experience.
It's not fancy or spa-like, but i don't like spending a lot of time getting my nails done, so it suited me fine. I did take away half a star because 5 stars does imply a fancy, expensive facility to me. The other half star was for the stupid parking situation in Georgetown, which isn't their fault, but did detract from my overall experience.
Jessica Salon is a small place across from the Georgetown Post Office that should be more well known than it is.
No, it's not an elegant, chic salon, but damn it's good! The ladies that work there are always friendly, and while their English may not be the best, they always understand what you want.
I've got a Brazilian done here for only $35. Compare that to $85 for my friend who went to Aveda.
The decor needs a bit of work, but the ladies get their stuff done, and that's what matters the most. It's probably the best deal salon there is in all of DC!
Tip: Reservations are a bit hard to make on the phone, since there seems to be a misunderstanding between you and whoever picks up the phone. I prefer to stop by on my way back from work and make a reservation in person.
Love this place. I've been coming for about four years now and have never been disappointed with either service or results. If you're looking for a chic spa atmosphere you won't find it here; the shop is in an older building. Even so, everything is neat, clean, and functional. The owner and staff are really nice, and manage to accommodate both walk-ins and people with appointments Lots of good OPI colors, a supreme selection of gossip mags to read while you get your pedicure, and the sweet little touch of a bowl of lollipops (or, sometimes, Jolly Ranchers) if you get the munchies while the polish dries. Nice pricing, too.
As someone who gets a mani or nails painted almost every other week- I've tried a lot of salons.
At first, I thought $10 was a lot for a polish change- but it was well worth every penny and I can't wait to go back and see what the mani is like. This polish change was almost the same treatment I've gotten for a mani- file, pushed cuticles, clean nails, buffed and then many coats of polish- its been a week and NO chipping.
Very impressed and well worth the $
Best "quick" or "walk-in" nail salon that I have found in Georgetown. Friendly and happy atmosphere and staff. Lots of magazines to read, good nail color selection (OPI and Essie) and free lollipops for your sweet tooth. They have UV nail dryers for both hands and feet. (I thought all nail salons had this but I discovered otherwise!)
I have lived right up the street from Jessica B Salon for over a year. After poking my head in when I first moved to the neighborhood, noticing the ancient pedicure chairs, strong nail polish odor and relatively high prices, I convinced myself that there must be better options in Georgetown. Recently, however, I noticed that they were renovating the place so, last weekend, when I was in desperate need of a mani/pedi and not feeling up to trekking across town, I decided to entrust Jessica B with my precious fingers and toes. I was not disappointed. The new pedicure chairs are great and the salon itself looks bright, new and clean. There was a wait and I was told to come back 20 minutes later and they were ready for me. Claire did a great job on my figures and my toes -- no chipping or peeling polish yet. While it is still more expensive than the $35 mani/pedi I can get in other parts of town, the great service and new look mean I will be back for more!
Love this quaint little affordable salon hidden between the shops of Georgetown. Clean and shabby chic. Highly recommend....
I loved my manicure, it was my first actually, and my manicurist was very friendly. I was also pleasantly surprised at how reasonable the price was, especially considering the location of the salon.
The salon is really cute inside, very clean and bright and a little funky. I also loved the music selection, the best of the 90's.
Next on my list is a pedicure!
As others have said, the salon is slightly tucked away, off the main road but its well worth finding. The first time I went it was due to a friend's recommendation. Since then I've been back twice on my own - for both manicures and pedicures. If you are looking for good service, clean stations, wide selection of nail colors (OPI, Nicole, Essie, etc) and a decent stack of magazines to read while you get your nails done - this is the place to for you. Pricing is compared to other DC nail locations.
Great for the money. As expected - not the Four Seasons but a good anough manicure.
This is a great neighborhood, walk-in nail place. It's about $17 for a manicure and a mani/pedi is $45. Great selection of Essie, OPI and others.
It's not elegant or fancy, but the manicures and pedicures have lasted for me.
Polish changes are $10 for fingers, which include nail filing, buffing and some cuticle work as well.
Open on Sundays!
Great place for a Mani/Pedi ! The staff is very nice and did a my nails and feet look Awesome !
Jessica's was recommended to me by Ritz Carlton Georgetown. Excellent gel manicure and manicurist Houjan. Clean, serene, very reasonable. And it didn't take forever! An excellent manicure does not happen everywhere, especially traveling.
This is definitely the best nail salon in Georgetown! There really aren't a lot of other options that are somewhat on the higher end and clean and trustworthy. Jessica's does a great job, they are quick and efficient, and the studio is always clean. The employees are friendly, and they always have a range of new colors. I would definitely recommend getting either a manicure or pedicure here!
The best nail salon. Best mani and pedi's. Sweet service and great comfortable massage chairs!!!!
Went there after an appointment down the street, they weren't busy and were able to take me right away. They have a huge selection of gel nail colors all with swatches that are numbered so the color selection process is easy and it's simple to find the color that you want. My nail tech, Kay, was incredibly kind and talkative which I love. She did a great job on my nails and it didn't take too long. I got a gel manicure and they look flawless and have stayed looking good for weeks. This place is definitely not one with many frills but if you're looking for a quick quality gel manicure this is a great spot.
I did not go here! I dropped my wife and daughter off to have a mani-pedi (I hurts a little to even say that in my head).
The staff was very nice. But still couldn't get me in the chair.
The nails looked great (but my male monkey-brain thinks anything shiny looks great).
I'd go there if I ever get my toenails done. Which I won't. Sorry. But I do recommend.
